Nostalgia by Souliere

A while ago, I bought a perfume from a local maker, not so long after I got my decant of Yum Boujee Marshmallow. I think I was on the hunt for scents that made me feel yummy, because I was trying to find as many fluffy gourmand scents as I could. And it’s a sad endeavour because I’ll buy a sample size and fall in love, just to know that at the end of the day, I’m the most loyal to my budget. I can’t buy a new perfume every month or even two; I limit myself to like a 100ml bottle at full price once a year or so, and I’m still working through at least three.

Cereal milk

But! This perfume is from Soulière, and I got it for 30ml at $38.00, I think. It had what I thought I was looking for; a vanilla-forward scent that I could make do with, whenever I wanted to smell like dessert.

On their page, it says that its woody, vanilla, sweet, tobacco. I might understand why it was profiled that way. On my first spray, it smelt vanilla and a little chocolatey. On my skin, it settled into a warmer and creamier scent.

But now that it’s been months, I can definitively say that the image I associate with this perfume is cereal milk. You know when you’re done eating cereal, you often have a little bit of milk left over? It’s the same dimensions of sweetness and milkiness that I get in my scent bubble.

I’ll admit, I do smell more tobacco once I actually put my nose to my skin.

I spray this in the morning at 8am and don’t get home till after 6pm, and by then, there’s only a whiff of it that I can still detect. I’m not opposed to carrying it on me for touch-ups, but I find it can be a bit intense in the first couple of seconds. Have I kept it improperly? Haha, I don’t know.

I bought this as they were clearing out their SS 25 collection and because they don’t do repeats, they won’t release the same scent again. However, Soulière lets you refill perfumes if you already have a bottle of, so I hope they’ll still be doing that when I’m done with this one.

As of August 2025, they have their FW fragrances and I’m eyeing After Hours, which is another vanilla-tonka scent but with coffee.
