Yum Boujee Marshmallow | 81 by Kayali

It’s wonderful to have little samples of different perfumes and get to know them more intimately. I’ve also made a commitment to try out different scent profiles, and this Kayali perfume buy represents my desire to try gourmand scents.

I will admit that I had no idea what gourmand meant but you’ll be happy to know that I’ve figured out that it means smelling like yummy food.

The notes

If you’ll bear with me, because I’m at good at sniffing out a note for perfume as I am with coffee, I’ll only vaguely describe the scent here and for a better review, you can go to Fragrantica. Upon first spritz, it is overwhelming but as it settles, there is a sickly sweet scent bodied in a rich creaminess that smells like a very thick milkshake or strawberry cream.

As it dries over the next hour or so, the marshmallow becomes more obvious, carried by wisps of whipped cream and sugar. The freesia and nectarine blossom helps it stay lighter and fresh, so it is very pleasant.

A vision

I imagine a cottage kitchen, vanilla cakes and sweet dreams (hence the image for this post). Many reviews called this scent childish and I mention this not to invalidate this opinion. But to me, this scent is very comforting and pleasant. It’s the perfect scent for when I want to lay somewhere comfortable and read a book because I feel at ease. It’s a little indulgent, as if life is so nice that I probably could just eat cake and wander off without a care in the world for a short moment of time.

I also think gourmand scents evoke this sense within me so I’m happy to have found this, and I look forward to testing more.
